A semi colon is a punctuation mark that looks looks like a combination of a comma and a full stop.
A semi colon is used for two reasons. The semi colon that strengthens the relationship between two independent sentences, is the one that we are focusing on this week.
Here are two videos that support our understanding of semi colons.
Remember, when reading, a semi colon is a pause that is a little longer than a comma, but not as long as a full stop.
When you have practised using a semi colon in your literacy skills book and received some feedback from a buddy followed by either Mrs Palfrey or Whaea Helen, post some below and on your Seesaw journal.
